Based in Vancouver, Canada, this is a blog by Michael Argast. My areas of interest include travel, economics, technology, the environment, personal development and other eclectic topics.

One thing I've learned in my time in the corporate world, and now as a budding entrepreneur, is the power of persistence. Of patience. Of slowly, working away, fighting through setbacks, failures. Putting one foot in front of the other.

When I was younger I was impatient. Impatience has a value, it makes you want to move fast. I still want to move fast, but am not always able to. It's not just that my body suffers from age, but also my priorities have shifted.

Some of my favourite quotes, videos, facts about failure and persistence:

Success is defined as getting up one more time than you've been knocked down.

Dyson spent 5 years and developed 5127 prototypes before releasing his first vacuum.

SpaceX is landing rocket boosters on drone ships. But it didn't come easy.

If you're always at the head of the class, you're probably in the wrong class.

The fears you don't face become your limits.

Have patience, all things are difficult before they are easy.
